Kordsa’s story has started 44 years ago in İzmit, today it is a global giant. Kordsa is reinforcing 1 of every 3 car tire and 2 of every 3 plane tire that is manufactured around the world. In order to defend this position; as well as to carry one step further, smart investments in both capacity increasement and focused on innovation are continuously going on.”

Vocalizing his satisfaction with the capacity increases Kordsa CEO Ali Çalışkan stated they were continuously developing their product portfolio. Saying that they were keeping the strong growth trend steady as Kordsa, Çalışkan reminded that they have signed under important growth decisions and big partnerships globally in 2017. Pointing out to the importance of İzmit factory in Kordsa’s market development Çalışkan continued saying; “in 2016 we have announced a supplementary investment of 30 million USD in our Turkey facilities. We can rapidly and efficiently supply the increasing demand with the new facility in our İzmit factory. I am also extremely happy to share with you that our new polyester yarn line has went live in Indonesia. We also increased our polyester yarn capacity by 7 tonnes in that facility as well. This investment will cement our market power in Asia – Pacific market that we operate since 2007.”

Capacity and product diversity will increase

Kordsa’s Europe, Middle East, Africa Region Vice General Manager Kadir Toplu has touched the subject of product diversity besides the capacity investment. Toplu said; “As Kordsa, we differentiate from our competitors with products; that are easy to use, provide a long term durability and offer a high performance advantage in the construction reinforcement area that we have entered in 2014. Now, with our newly launched synthetic fiber reinforcement product Kratos’ new variety ‘polypropylene monofilament’ we are expanding our product diversity.

This product that will be launched in 2018; provides both a sustainable high performance and a cost advantage compared to its counterparts in the market with its strong characteristic features. We aim to launch this highly durable and efficient synthetic fiber reinforcement product both in Turkish and European markets. Its difference from the other varieties of Kratos’ own product range is it being a product; that will add value to tunnel and infrastructure projects specifically and providing a cost advantage. It is a highly exciting product with these features. We will continue to reinforce the world with our game changing technologies and products.”
