2017 Spring\/Summer Collections attracted great interest during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul. Several various themes were displayed via shows from famous brands and designers.<\/p>\n

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul (MBFWI) witnessed 2017 Spring\/Summer Collections from fashion brands and designers on October 11-15 at Zorlu Performance Hall (PSM). Opening doors for the 8th time under the name sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz, Fashion Week Istanbul gave leading global industry players a chance to evaluate purchasing options via tracking shows and presentations at first place.<\/p>\n

Brands and designers that displayed collections during the 5 days long event<\/a> were: Affair, Arzu Kaprol, Asl\u0131 Alev, At\u0131l Kuto\u011flu, Ay\u015fe Deniz Ye\u011fin, Bashaques\u2019 Belma \u00d6zdemir, Bora Aksu, Brand Who, Can Yunus \u00c7etinkaya, Cihan Nacar, \u00c7i\u011fdem Ak\u0131n, DB Berdan, Derya A\u00e7\u0131kg\u00f6z, Dice Kayek, Dilek Hanif, Do\u011fay Can, Ki\u011f\u0131l\u0131, Les Menjamins, Lug Von Siga, Mehtap Elaidi, Meltem \u00d6zbek, Mercedes-Benz Celebrates Bahar Kor\u00e7an, Mert Erkan, Miin, Mudo, Murat Aytulum, New Gen, \u00d6zg\u00fcr Masur, \u00d6zlem Kaya, \u00d6zlem S\u00fcer, Ra\u015fit Ba\u011fz\u0131ba\u011fl\u0131, Selma \u00c7ilek, Selma State, Sudi Etuz and Tuba Ergin.<\/p>\n

Every Collection Has a Story to Tell<\/strong><\/p>\n

Designer G\u00fcl A\u011f\u0131\u015f (Lug Von Siga) was inspired by English writer Agahtha Christie in her collection, \u201cAgatha in Istanbul\u201d. Comfortable silhouettes and natural fabrics came to the front in the collection which referred to designs of end 19th century-early 20th century. Famous designer Arzu Kaprol signed a technologic collection, meanwhile. Preparing an interactive show, Kaprol used 3d printed items in \u201cLifPrint\u201d collection. Bahar Kor\u00e7an exhibited her \u201cDust\u201d collection under the name \u201cMercedes-Benz Celebrates Bahar Kor\u00e7an\u201d. The theme was man was created from dust and would return it.<\/p>\n

Cihan Nacar\u2019s sea wear collection consisted of 40 pieces and grabbed interest with rich and extraordinary cuts. Popular models walked during Ra\u015fit Ba\u011fz\u0131ba\u011fl\u0131 with effeminacy lines. Stone dressings, tufts and embroideries were underlined. Designer Selma State brought a wind from Japanese culture to the stage. Her collection was interesting with reinterpreted versions of geisha clothes. \u00d6zg\u00fcr Mansur reflected deluxe designs of 1920s under the name \u201cGreat Gatsby\u2019s Women\u201d.<\/p>\n

DB Berdan focused on \u201csexual apartheid and violence\u201d with Ultra Violence Collection. Presenting effeminacy and masculine fabrics together, the collection underlined genderless patterns with very different printings. Making his remarks in foreign markets as well, Bora Aksu reinterpreted old designs from grandmothers\u2019 dowry chests. Coming with an Aegean wind, the collection gathers comfort and style with specially weaved lace fabrics and flower patterns. Another special presentation of the week came from New Gen. It was formed by graduates of bachelor\u2019s degree and post-grads of Istanbul Fashion Academy (IMA) with the sponsorship of \u0130THK\u0130B.<\/p>\n

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul has sponsorships from many leading brands, while it is supported by Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporter Associations (\u0130TK\u0130B), Fashion Designers Association (MTD), United Brands Association (BMD) and Istanbul Fashion Academy (\u0130MA).<\/p>\n

Purchasing Committees Met in The Core Istanbul<\/strong><\/p>\n

Collections of 27 designers and 27 brands met with buyers at The Core Istanbul, Zorlu PSM Sky Lounge simultaneously with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul.
