The index value stood at 120.9 points (basis: 100 in 2010).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This growth rate affected both foreign markets, for which the index registered an absolute value of 128 points (+23%) and the domestic market in Italy. In the latter case, the increase was 72% compared to the period from October to December 2016, for absolute value of 94.5 points.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On an annual basis, the index registered an average increase of 18% with respect to 2016. Domestic orders were up 36%, a significant rise that stands to confirm the effectiveness of the government\u2019s measures to support investments by Italian manufacturers. Foreign markets also registered a substantial increase in orders for the entire year (+16%).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.textilegence.com\/en\/italian-machine-manufacturers-raised-their-shares-in-turkish-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACIMIT<\/a> President Alessandro Zucchi commented on these results as follows: \u201cThe orders index for 2017 confirms that our sector is in good health, with a production trend that has been growing since 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on updated data for the first nine months of 2017, Italian exports increased 10% compared to the period from January to September 2016, with solid performances by Italian businesses in the industry in all major markets. In Italy, the measures envisaged in the National Industrial Plan 4.0, were responsible for launching purchases of advanced machinery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zucchi further states that; \u201cThe textile sector is currently constrained, more than ever before; to attentively look into the applications offered by Industry 4.0. Demand in the industry is evolving continuously; and the concept of time-to-market is taken to extremes; so that the required production processes must be just as fast and interconnected to meet the demands of end consumers. Nonetheless, it would have been difficult to imagine such a significant leverage effect from the 4.0 incentives.\u201d<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Italian textile machinery a major player at Techtextil Russia<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ACIMIT and the Italian Trade Agency for the promotion and internationalization of Italian businesses abroad; will be organizing an exhibition space at the upcoming edition of Techtextil Russia; the specialized trade fair dedicated to technical textiles and nonwovens; slated to be held in Moscow from 20 to 23 March 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A total of 22 companies will be on hand at Italy\u2019s exhibition space, including the following ACIMIT associated members; Beta, Bombi, Bonino, Cibitex, Cognetex, Durst, Fabotex, Fadis, Ferraro, Guarneri, Mcs, Cosmatex, Pugi, Ratti, Reggiani, Salmoiraghi, Sariel, Santex Rimar Group, Smit, Sicam, Tessil Gomma.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background on the Italy\u2019s textile machinery industry and ACIMIT <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising around 300 manufacturers (employing close to 12,000 people); and producing machinery for an overall value of about 2.7 billion euros; with exports amounting to more than 85% of total sales.
