Koops created her own brand in 2012, and has been cooperating with Mimaki since the Heimtextil 2019. She became the designer that Mimaki chose to showcase the advantages of digital printing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mimaki.com.tr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">technologies<\/a> for the fashion industry. The designs of Tessa Koops, printed on Mimaki TS55-1800 printing machine, showed that a new era has actually begun. Digital printing technologies have the potential to make a radical change in the fashion and clothing industry with more personalization, faster production and higher profitability opportunities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">FESPA Eurasia 2019 was the fifth step of cooperation between Mimaki and Tessa Koops. Visitors from Turkey and the region showed great interest in Mimaki <a href=\"https:\/\/www.textilegence.com\/en\/category\/printing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">printing<\/a> solutions and Koops\u2019 designs. We talked to Tessa Koops and Mimaki Eurasia General Manager Arjen Evertse about the innovations brought by digital printing to the fashion industry and the creative freedom of designers.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tessa Koops; &#8220;I was very impressed with Mimaki technologies!&#8221;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Describing the beginning of their collaboration as a \u201cbeautiful story\u201d, Tessa Koops said that Mimaki cares about collaborating with artistic people. Koops reminded that their cooperation started a year ago, and said; \u201cAfter the first meetings, I visited Mimaki Europe&#8217;s showroom in Netherlands. I was very impressed with the digital printing technology and possibilities I saw there. They showed all their machines in the showroom and provided a lot of information. Of course, these machines were not just about textiles. I also saw their machines for the graphic and industrial printing segments. I took a close look at 3D printing machines, as well as machines that print on all types of plastic and foil, wallpapers. As a designer, you also want to look from different points of view without any limitations. This diversity of printers gave me many ideas and inspired me. I felt like in a candy store\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Koops stated that designers form a good combination with technical people, because generally designers do not consider the technical side of the work. She continued her words saying; \u201cSo sometimes you are surprised by what&#8217;s not possible but could now be produced with digital printing. When I met Mimaki, I started developing a new way of thinking about printing. I was asked to design for the Heimtextil 2019. The designs we prepared were printed on various objects and surfaces on the booth. We had especially remarkable prints on wallpaper and fabrics. There were beautiful pieces, on this occasion, which later on I was able to translate into my collection. We achieved a success beyond our expectations at the fair\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Customization ability of digital printing is unrivalled <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tessa Koops pointed out to the growing demand for personalized products rather than standard products in the fashion and clothing industry. Koops said that customizing designs with digital printing is much easier, faster and at a lower cost than traditional printing methods. Koops; \u201cCollections consist of 80% unique colours and designs. With this really efficient technology, the rate of personalization is rapidly increasing, without worrying about the run size.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Disclosing that sampling in traditional printing methods is a difficult, long and expensive process, Koops shared her experience with digital printing as follows; \u201cSamples are very important for us in order to produce the right colours. In the past, you had to spend a lot of fabric to sample, and a lot of samples to reach the desired point. For example, I was taking around 40 samples for a production of 25-30 pieces. Sampling became much easier with the possibilities of digital printing, and the amount of fabric used decreased. A more efficient production process was achieved. This not only reflected positively on our production costs but also contributed to a greener production\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Turkish market welcomes modern fabrics<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tessa Koops indicated that the Turkish market welcomes modern fabrics such as viscose. Koops; \u201cI supply 80-90% of the fabric for my own brand from Turkey. In addition to the innovative fabrics, the development of the Turkish about fabrics made from natural fibres is very remarkable. We constantly look out what we can develop technologically, how we can make products more colourful, how we can work with higher quality prints and different textiles. This is the first part of the story, we are on the technology side, and then we have designers, namely our users. They write their own stories using the machines we produce. Our work with Tessa Koops was crucial in bringing these two worlds together and bring them together to the market. A concept that will inspire visitors has thus emerged\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evertse emphasized that Mimaki printers have advanced technology; \u201cIt doesn&#8217;t matter which fabric we print, because we can work with all of them.
