The Cinte Techtextil China 2020 edition took place successfully both physically and virtually. The fair<\/a> held in Shanghai on September 2-4 hosted 409 participants from the technical textiles and nonwovens industry. More than 15,300 people visited the fair on an area of 38 thousand square meters. This year’s fair has gone down in history as the last event<\/a> held every 2 years, starting next year the fair will be organized annually.<\/p>\n

Wendy Wen, Senior Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, pointed out that things have changed in this edition. Stating that exhibitors who cannot travel to Shanghai can benefit from the online platform for procurement, Wen said that the fair is strong as a platform that offers opportunities for China’s growing technical textiles and nonwovens market. Wen; \u201cWhile the pandemic has undoubtedly had an economic impact, specifically for this market the prospects remain bright, with China\u2019s industrial output growing YoY in the second quarter of this year, spending on high-tech infrastructure expected from a stimulus package, and increased emphasis on the government\u2019s new \u2018dual circulation\u2019 economic framework strategy of boosting domestic demand while at the same time attracting foreign investment and stabilising trade\u201d.<\/p>\n

The fair achieved a strong local participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Thanks to the current developments in the Chinese technical textiles and nonwovens market, the number of visitors to the fair increased by 16% compared to the 2018 edition. The size of the fair managed to stay at the same level as the previous edition thanks to the strong local participation. Strong feedback from international participating brands also confirms that expectations are bright in the country.<\/p>\n

In addition, the new Medical and Protective Zone gave the chance for companies to showcase their products and technologies for combating the current and future pandemics. Also at the fair in the International Hall (Hall E1); The German Pavilion, the European Zone and the Italian Zone were featured. Local participants exhibited their solutions in Halls E2 and E3, while innovations were exhibited in Hall E2. The fair’s new online purchasing platform was highly appreciated by exhibitors and visitors; as an important tool in this limited international travel period.<\/p>\n

Cinte Techtextil China 2020 succeeded despite coronavirus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Regarding the change in the fair\u2019s format to an annual event starting from 2021, Wendy Wen commented; \u201cWith the growing success of the fair over recent years; we have made the decision to change Cinte Techtextil from a biennial event to an annual one; a move which has been widely welcomed by exhibitors and visitors alike. The reasons for this change are; we believe the strong demand in the Chinese technical textiles and nonwovens market will continue in the years ahead; while many exhibitors and buyers have communicated their preference to us for an annual event\u201d.<\/p>\n

Cinte Techtextil China, which covers 12 application areas; brought production technologies, pre-production equipment and raw materials, final fabrics, chemicals and other solutions to visitors. The fair is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd in cooperation with the Textile Industry Sub-Council (CCPIT) and China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA).
