DOMOTEX, the meeting point<\/a> of the global carpet and flooring industry, will take place in Hannover, Germany on 11-14 January with its 2024 edition. Sustainability, circular economy and environmental protection will play a key role in the organisation for the second time. Furthermore, GREEN COLLECTION award ceremony will be organised in the DOMOTEX special area of the exhibition<\/a> and nature-inspired designs will be awarded in 4 different categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOMOTEX Global Director Sonia Wedell-Castellano underlined that sustainability should be an indispensable issue today, saying; \u201cIn our world where natural resources are gradually depleting and the effects of the climate crisis are beginning to directly affect our lives, sustainability should be an integral part of what we do in every field. For this reason, at DOMOTEX, we decided to continue and expand the scope of our value-based main theme \u2018FLOORED BY NATURE\u2019 as well as our special area called \u2018THE GREEN COLLECTION\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of TFI Aachen and chair of the jury for this year’s GREEN COLLECTION Award, Dr. Jacqueline Lemm said; \u201cWe are confident that DOMOTEX will meet the expectations of visitors, especially in the special area of THE GREEN COLLECTION in Hall 23, with outstanding presentations and innovative products, as well as current research projects and an inspiring conference programme.\u201d She also added that it is highly valuable for them to continue their successful cooperation with DOMOTEX.<\/p>\n\n\n

Green emphasised awards will mark the DOMOTEX 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is stated that the most striking aspect of the DOMOTEX special area this year will be the GREEN COLLECTION award ceremony. An international jury of experts will examine the submitted designs, pre-qualify them and ensure that they will be showcased in the GREEN COLLECTION area throughout the entire exhibition. This year, the jury will be chaired by Director of TFI Aachen Dr Jacqueline Lemm. The jury will also include the publisher of the industry magazine Floor Focus, Kemp Harr, and Managing Director of the non-profit organisation Label STEP Reto Aschwanden.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All four categories to be awarded at DOMOTEX 2024 will focus on sustainability, while each category will address different aspects of sustainable products or production processes;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Eco Friendly Products<\/strong>: Focuses on organically and ethically produced materials as well as recycled and upcycled raw materials.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Healthy Products:<\/strong> Focuses on the production of carpet and flooring with low emission products.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Sustainable Production<\/strong>: This category comprises alternative, energy-saving and other sustainable production processes as well as related products applied in the flooring industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
