While the agenda in the textile<\/a> and apparel industries is quite intense, we have compiled the headlines for you in our Textilegence May June 2025 issue. In addition to the latest technological innovations from the textile and printing industries, we also share with you the latest developments within the scope of sustainability in our new issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the highlights from T\u00fcrkiye were the following: Exports to African and Asian countries are increasing in the Turkish textile industry. In the Turkish textile and apparel industry, 2,147 businesses shut down in 3 months. Turkish leather industry focused on the Chinese market to overcome the crisis. TGSD President Toygar Narbay said that the Turkish apparel industry has lost its competitiveness and underlined that state support is now inevitable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, news on investments and innovations continued to come from the industry: Orka Holding, one of the leading companies in men’s fashion with its Damat Tween and D’S damat brands, held the opening ceremony of its second factory in Giresun and the groundbreaking ceremony of its third factory. Dilo Systems GmbH and Kansan Group signed a strategic partnership agreement to supply special nonwoven lines. Academics at Gaziantep University (GA\u00dcN) developed a nanotechnology-integrated machine that accelerates yarn production and reduces production costs. Durak Poly-Strong PC-IR thread perfects camouflage invisibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the headlines from the global textile and printing industry are the following: Rieter acquires Barmag from OC Oerlikon. Tr\u00fctzschler India moves operations to new state-of-the-art facility in Sanand. Mayer & Cie.’s new machine control system Control 5.0 makes the company’s circular knitting machines internet and knitlink ready, preparing them for the digital future of textile production. Mimaki expands its CJV200 Series with new cost-effective eco-solvent solutions. swissQprint received two EDP Awards, one for the company’s 5th Generation Nyala flatbed printer and one for pyramid printing, a technique that creates images with surprising color change effects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Hemp for a Sustainable Future Workshop organized by E\u0130B and TMO Izmir Branch at the E\u0130B service building, it was emphasized that T\u00fcrkiye can be an important actor in the global hemp market, which is expected to reach 100 billion dollars by 2050. While it was stated that a serious waste of solar panel modules awaits T\u00fcrkiye in 2030-2035, it was announced that the feasibility study for their recycling has been completed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
