By embedding an impressive 50% by volume of aerogel directly into viscose fibers, Outlast has engineered an insulation material that is both exceptionally light and extraordinarily effective. The result: 35% higher RCT values (Resistance to Dry Heat Transfer = indicator for insulation performance) compared to conventional solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What makes Aersulate\u00ae waddings special is that manufacturers can now produce winter quilts with summer-like lightness or summer quilts that feel almost weightless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conventional waddings, the fiber layers are compressed during the quilting process. As a result, the air trapped within the wadding escapes \u2013 and with it, the most important insulating element.
