The balance disrupted in the Turkish textile and apparel industry; costs are rising while production and exports are declining. Over the past five months, 1,781 workplaces in the textile and apparel sectors have shut down. Commenting on the sector, Minister of Trade \u00d6mer Bolat stated, \u201cAs a government, we will never turn our backs on the textile industry\u201d This year, the 18th Istanbul Apparel Conference served as a \u201ccompass\u201d for the sector. For 25 years, Messe Frankfurt Istanbul has been bringing local companies together with international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investment news from T\u00fcrkiye and around the world continues to come in. Turkish entrepreneur Temel Kamilo\u011flu, who founded Sewera Global Tekstil together with Supreme Intelligent, stated, \u201cT\u00fcrkiye will become a hub for Supreme.\u201d Asteks and Nexrone announced their global investment move. LYCRA opened the world\u2019s largest spandex production facility in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry events are also continuing at full speed. ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 gave momentum to the textile market. Br\u00fcckner showcased the future of textile finishing at ITMA ASIA + CITME. KARL MAYER presented its practical and efficient warping solutions at ITMA ASIA. Marzoli made its mark on ITMA ASIA 2025 with its new textile ecosystem. Mimaki celebrated its 50th anniversary at SIGN \u0130stanbul 2025 with \u201cDIFFERENT\u201d innovations. Heimtextil 2026 will bring the industry together under the motto \u201cLead the Change.\u201d NASA-inspired thermal insulation: Aersulate takes the stage at Heimtextil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Textile technologies that directly affect the quality of garment production continue to advance day by day. Pre-Cleaner CL-X continues to be preferred by spinning mills worldwide with its high-efficiency cotton cleaning performance. swissQprint expanded its Generation 5 series with the new Topi 5 and Oryx 5. Durak Tekstil stands out with its functional threads and sustainability vision. BTSR Sales General Manager Angelo Rizzo shared details with Textilegence about BTSR\u2019s technologies that provide efficient yarn monitoring and control for high-quality yarns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest news on sustainable transformation in the textile and fashion industries awaits readers on our Green Times pages: OCA is implementing T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s first Organic Cotton Education Curriculum. National Cotton Council Chair Fevzi \u00c7ondur emphasized that cotton producers have experienced serious yield losses in recent years due to drought and stressed the need for new irrigation projects to be implemented.
