Producing for global fashion giants such as Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger, the company shut down 7 of its facilities and laid off 5,000 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to Vahap Munyar from Ekonomim, Sel\u00e7uk Mehmet Kaya, Chair of the Board at TYH Tekstil A.\u015e., stated that the company is currently in concordat proceedings, noting that severe economic pressures forced them to take this step. Explaining that they scaled back the number of their operational plants from 13 to 6, Kaya said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe used to manufacture across 13 factories with 6,900 people. We are down to 1,900 now. In other words, we had to say goodbye to 5,000 of our staff members. Almost all of them were highly skilled and competent colleagues. Downsizing unfortunately forced us through this parting process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-tyh-tekstil-reduces-apparel-production-shifts-focus-to-fabrics\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">TYH Tekstil reduces apparel production, shifts focus to fabrics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Noting that they have significantly scaled back on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.textilegence.com\/en\/category\/topical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apparel<\/a> side, Kaya stated that they are now concentrating on fabric production and evaluating opportunities in technical textiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TYH Tekstil opened its first production facility and headquarters in \u0130zmir in 2000, expanding over the years to launch manufacturing units across several provinces, including Manisa, K\u0131rklareli, and Edirne. The company established corporate offices in Istanbul in 2003 and Amsterdam in 2021. Its client portfolio includes world-renowned brands such as Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Gant, Armani, Massimo Dutti, Bestseller, and Varner-Gruppen. Developing collections, fabrics, and accessories, TYH Tekstil also executes projects aimed at enhancing 3D design and digital manufacturing processes as part of its digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-waves-of-closures-hit-the-textile-industry\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waves of closures hit the textile industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last month, 73-year-old textile giant Orta Anadolu also announced a complete halt to its production due to global market pressures.
