As a result of efficient marketing and after sales service there are thousands of working Itema machines in Turkish market nowadays. The company is carrying out a special case study about Turkish textile manufacturers experiences with Itema machines. Sürü Tekstil, located in Denizli, shared their Itema experiences.
Sürü Tekstil became much more competitive with Itema machines
Established in Denizli in 2001 with 54 years of know-how, Sürü Tekstil set up its own machine park with Sulzer machines in 2007. Continuing the investment process, the company has entered a renovation era in their production lines with Itema machines in 2013. Thus, over 200 new generation Itema weaving machines consisting of rapier R9500 and airjet A9500 have been installed in Sürü Tekstil’s plant.
The company manufactures home textile (manily bed sheeting) and apparel fabrics according to customer’s demand in a range from 90 to 329cm width. Some of the fabrics manufactured by the company are ranforce, flannel, sateen, piqué, seersucker, gabardine, upholstery fabric, ribs fabric and duck fabric.
With a monthly production volume of 3 million metres and a strong focus on export, Sürü Tekstil Company Owner Mehmet Ali Sürü pointed out that their customers are especially focused on weaving quality. Ali Sürü said: “Main factor in weaving quality is the weaving machine without any doubt. This was the reason for us to choose Itema in 2013 when we started our new weaving machinery investment. Because we have been able to minimize weaving faults with Itema machines and increase the fabric quality to top level. This increased our sales while giving us a competitive advantage.”
Increase in efficiency while decrease in production costs
Sürü Tekstil increased the efficiency while decreasing their production costs with R9500 rapier weaving machine and A9500 airjet weaving machine. Mehmet Ali Sürü explained the reason why they chose these weaving machines; “We preferred A9500 airjet weaving machine for high efficiency, the higher speed, the maintenance costs reduction and the lower investment cost compared to the other weft insertion technologies. The A9500 drastically reduces the spare parts cost as well as the problematic employment situation since textile operators are very difficult to find In fact, we can weave more fabric with less employees with the airjet A9500. The R9500 rapier offers us the opportunity to produce different types of fabrics including heavier fabrics. We have been working for over 4 years with R9500 and over 3 years with A9500; and we didn’t experience any problem so far.”
