Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB) has brought its programs that open the horizon to sector representatives and especially young people to online platforms. Fark Holding Chairman of the Board and founder of Arya Women’s Investment Platform Ahu Büyükkuşoğlu Serter was the guest of the conversation moderated by UTİB Chairman, Pınar Taşdelen Engin on @utibsosyal Instagram account. In the conversation themed “Creative Collision: Entrepreneurship”, changing trends and new entrepreneurship understanding were evaluated in the world markets after Covid-19.

Drawing attention to the fact that the digital world is especially helpful to business people in the pandemic process, UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin stated that the world is going through a difficult test. Engin said that the business world was looking for ways to do business in the new period, while focusing on developing alternative systems and approaches while trying to manage the current crisis. Saying “We have to return to life in a way now”, Taşdelen Engin disclosed; “We turned this challenging process positive in terms of sharing experiences and acquiring new experiences. We are witnessing the changes that can be called radical. With the need to find a solution to Covid-19, people, non-governmental organizations and even governments came together. So we can come together. It makes people happy to see this”.

The nature of man never changes

Evaluating the process of the world, Ahu Büyükkuşoğlu Serter answered the question; “We are living in a period when the star of the non-contact economy shines. What kind of world awaits us after the pandemic?” as follows:

“We are all human and the nature of man never changes. It is the same for centuries. A person forgets quickly, can get used to it very quickly, and can go back very quickly. New trends will emerge after the pandemic. People will give up many things. It’s the right time to rediscover everything and put it on the table. Covid-19 was the driving force for people to change things. Health, finance and e-commerce are amongst the leading sectors. Many investors turned to these sectors. But entrepreneurs must have learning and development capability. New things must be absorbed like a sponge, you need to proceed evolving. Learning the whole world, knowing English is very important. We can dream in Turkey, we can create in Turkey, but we need to sell this abroad, in their language”.

Stating that young people should be given a chance to sail, grow and develop new investments, Serter said; “We should put the youth at the centre of everything”. Serter noted that the most luxurious and valuable thing in the world is ‘trust’ in recent years. Expressing that every brand, every company selling trust is selling ‘luxury’ in a sense, Serter said; “Because now the customer comes because they trust you, which means you are a luxury brand”.
