
Doubling the Turkish average in textile exports with 8.4 dollars per kg, UTİB has continued the same success in the field of home textiles products.
‘Home Textile Sector Meeting’ took place in Bursa, with Istanbul Trade Fairs – a CNR Holding company- and Turkey Home Textile Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TETSİAD) cooperation. Ali Bulut, Chief Executive Officer of CNR Holding, Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTİB) Chairman Pınar Taşdelen Engin and TETSİAD Chairman Ali Sami Aydın were present at the panel entitled
‘Recent Trends and Exports in the World Market’. Bursa Chamber of Commerce (BTSO) Chairman İbrahim Burkay made the opening speech of the event. The moderator of the panel, where many home textile manufacturers from Bursa and surrounding regions participated as spectators, was Dr. Emre Alkin.
UTİB Chairman Pınar Taşdelen Engin stated that they exported 760 million USD in the first 7 months of 2018 and said that they have achieved an increase of 12% compared to the previous year and expect to realize 1.3 billion USD export until the end of the year. Engin; “The average value per kilogram of Turkey’s textiles exports is 4.29 USD, while as UTİB our export per kilogram in the first 7 months of the year is 8.46 USD. Our main goal is to surpass the unit prices that are higher than we have in some products; which Italy has achieved through creating great brands.”
“Our share in world home textiles market is 5%”
Noting that UTİB reached important export values in the home textile industry, Engin said; “In 2018, the average price per kilogram of our products sold to USA is 12 dollars; 14.2 dollars to Poland; 18.3 dollars to Switzerland and 26 to Japan. Our indoors textiles industry has a significant share of 5 percent in world markets; by performing a strong production and export. The home and indoors textile industry signifies a similar success for Turkey; such as BMW and Audi for Germany and Samsung for Republic of Korea.”
TETSİAD Chairman Ali Sami Aydın said that; they are trying to bring Turkish home textile perception to a higher level in the world. Aydın announced that the Home & Tex Fair will be held in September starting from this year.
