Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2026 will open the spring sourcing season from 11–13 March 2026, with a renewed focus on being fashion forward, while embracing sustainable, performance, and future textiles. The exhibition will be an efficient platform for global industry players trying to overcome market challenges and look for innovation.

“Intertextile Apparel has proved time and again to be unmissable, and our fairgoers regularly echo that sentiment,” said Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “As the industry undergoes a period of change, the fair’s breadth, scale, business connections and focus on ‘what’s next’ are more important than ever. The upcoming Spring Edition will leverage our renewed focus and carry forward the positive momentum of our 2025 shows, where we witnessed solid results in key exhibitor and buyer categories. With fashion as a cornerstone of the fair, we will continue to place a greater emphasis on AI and innovation, while growing our sustainable and performance-related offerings.”

Fashion, performance, sustainability and innovation

The show’s willingness to align with international and domestic market trends has been paying dividends. In China, the textile industry’s emissions intensity decreased by 60% from 2005 – 2022, and by a further 14% from 2022 – 2024. Reflecting exhibitors’ eagerness to attract eco-conscious buyers from China and beyond, Intertextile Apparel’s dedicated zone for sustainability, Econogy Hub, increased in scale by over 60% between the 2024 and 2025 Autumn Editions. At the upcoming Spring Edition, the zone will feature an open booth design as well as dedicated seminar and display areas. In addition, it is set to welcome a range of innovative textile suppliers and testing and certification institutions. Econogy Hub will be supplemented by the Econogy Finder, a convenient means for visitors to locate sustainable suppliers across the fairground.

Industry innovation tends to be directed towards sustainable endeavours, and the AI trend is no exception – as it is already reshaping the supply chain in meaningful ways, such as reducing wastage in production, allowing for earlier detection of defects, and optimising stock levels to prevent surplus. At the enhanced Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone and its complementary seminar series, exhibitors at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2026 will showcase a range of AI-related and cutting-edge technologies with textile applications. The zone’s previous exhibitors included the likes of AiDLab, HKRITA, and Shima Seiki, who were enthused with its favourable position and ability to connect them with new, relevant buyers.

Many suppliers are making significant efforts to attract the next generation of customers. Generation Z is more interconnected than previous consumers, and as such, Chinese-style clothing trends have transcended the domestic fashion scene to reach international markets. Next spring, this could potentially lead to interesting business opportunities for fashion-forward exhibitors at Accessories Vision, Beyond Denim, Essential Suits & Shirts, Premium Wool Zone, SalonEurope, and Verve for Design. Meanwhile, suppliers at Functional Lab will be eager to take advantage of the developing athleisure trend, which has evolved towards more utilitarian, functional styles and outfits.

The fair is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Textile Information Centre. It will take place alongside Yarn Expo Spring, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC and PH Value at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
