The support to Premiere Vision Istanbul will continue

UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin argued in her opening speech that; as UTİB, they advocated Turkey should have a fair in the area of garment fabrics for many years now. Engin said that; they had taken the first step in 2011 and organized an exhibition and stated that; their success attracted the attention of the world’s leading trade fair companies. Engin; “In 2014, the best company in the world for this purpose; Premiere Vision has come into play. Since then, the success of the exhibition continues to increase. We will continue to support the exhibition.” Expressing that Premiere Vision is doing business in many countries; has a vast network and know-how, Engin emphasized that all these pluses will make Premiere Vision Istanbul bigger.

Export unit price rise up to 8.35 USD

Pınar Taşdelen Engin also shared information on export figures; and said that in the 9 months of 2018, UTİB member companies realized 944 million USD in exports; with a 10% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Engin; “Turkey’s textile exports in the same period was 6 billion 335 million USD, with an increase of 6.6%. When we look at this value and the upward trend in recent months; we will reach an export value of about 1.3 billion USD as UTİB and an export value of about 8.5 billion USD countrywide at the end of 2018”.

Pointing out that the textile industry increases the unit price per kilogram of export every day, Engin; “While the average unit price per kilogram is 1.31 USD on overall Turkish exports; the textile industry average is 4.38 USD in the 9-month period of 2018. In the same period, the value reached by UTİB is 8.35 USD. For fabric goods, our sales to the United States and Tunisia were 12 USD per kilogram, Morocco and Vietnam 14 USD, New Zealand 24, Japan 25 USD. We are very happy to have achieved this value with value-added production. However, our goal is to move on to even higher unit prices; without losing quality, which our competitors have achieved through branding”.
