Held every year on the Friday before the Spring Vernal Equinox, World Sleep Day was celebrated this year on March 13 under the motto “Sleep Well, Live Better.” Marked in more than 88 countries worldwide, this special day raises awareness of the impact of sleep on quality of life and aims to reduce the societal burden of sleep disorders through better prevention and management. For a healthy sleep, the mattresses we lie on throughout the night and the bedding textiles that come into contact with our skin also play a critical role.

Beds, where 7 to 9 hours of the day are spent sleeping uninterrupted, have a direct impact on sleep comfort and quality. Skin-friendly fabrics such as cotton and linen facilitate a more comfortable sleep with their breathable structures, while mattresses designed for specific conditions such as reflux, along with products offering features like temperature regulation and body-contouring memory foam, support a sleep experience tailored to individual needs.

Bedding manufacturers highlighted the importance of quality sleep on World Sleep Day

Erdal Deniz, General Manager of home textiles brand SAREV, stated: “Quality sleep is of great importance for both our physical and mental health. As SAREV, for 20 years we have been aiming to enhance our customers’ sleep comfort with skin-friendly, breathable products made from natural materials. Through World Sleep Day, we want to emphasize the importance of quality sleep. Because we believe that a good day starts with a good night’s sleep.”

Mehmet Kürşat Batallı, Executive Board Chairman of Armis Bedding, noted that investments in production technologies have increased by 20% over the past two years, and added: “On the occasion of World Sleep Day, I would like to once again emphasize that we will continue to develop products that support sleep quality with our production capacity and technological infrastructure.”

Leading Turkish bedding brands such as Yatsan and Yataş Bedding also shared their messages for World Sleep Day, highlighting the importance of mattresses in sleep quality.
