Yeşim Tekstil manufactures ready-to-wear for world-renowned brands in its facility commissioned in 2019 in Ağrı Tekstilkent Region. The facility was opened with an investment of approximately 20 million euros on a 36 thousand square metre factory area allocated by the Governorship of Ağrı. It has recently started production for the famous Tommy Hilfiger brand. Yeşim Tekstil aims to gradually create employment for 5 thousand people in the Ağrı Facility, which was established within the scope of the decision to increase capacity and continue planned developments in line with the demands of its customers. On the one hand, the company continues to expand its capacity with the support it provides to other producer partners in the region; on the other hand, it plans to increase the number of employees in the factory, which is currently 850 people, to 1,700 by the end of 2021.

Planning to increase the number of employees to 15 thousand people in Turkey with the production network, Yeşim Tekstil ranks among the largest companies working with women’s employment and the volume created in Turkey. Yeşim Tekstil produces from Turkey for the European market and from Egypt, due to the advantage of free trade agreement, for the American market.

Ending the year 2020 with an export value of 332 million dollars, the company aims to grow by %20 in 2021. Yeşim Tekstil has also started investment programs besides Bursa and aims to contribute to the country’s economy by increasing its production and export capacities with this investment program that they have implemented through government incentives.

Another 30 million dollar investment in Ağrı

CEO of Yeşim Group Şenol Şankaya announced that they anticipate an additional 30 million dollar investment in Ağrı for the upcoming period. Stating that they aim to employ 5 thousand people for the second time after reaching the number of employees gradually in the first stage, Şankaya continued his words as follows:

“We plan to increase the number of employees in our factory to 1,700 by the end of 2021. The process of equipping the factory with automation systems continues. The executives of PVH Europe BV – Tommy Hilfiger visited our factory, which increases its line in terms of production competence and they wanted to see our production processes on site. We informed the group consisting of SVP Öznur Mutlu, responsible for Purchasing and Production Processes, Tommy Hilfiger managers Emine Sezer and Mustafa Ceylan about our future production and growth plans. We started production from the Ağrı facility for Tommy Hilfiger, which is our current customer and we produce from our other locations. This is a pleasing development for the region in every aspect”.

It will announce the ‘Made in Turkey’ inscription even more strongly all over the world

Şenol Şankaya stated that when the investment in Ağrı reaches 10 thousand people and is fully realized, their goal will be to provide an additional turnover of approximately %25-30 to their current capacity. He said; “In this way, we will have the chance to announce “Made in Turkey” inscription even more strongly all over the world through the dozens of brands we work with”.

An increase in welfare will prevent immigration from the region

Şenol Şankaya relayed that they saw Ağrı’s great potential and noted; “As the investments we have realized grow in the Eastern Anatolia Region, we will contribute to the prevention of migration to the west. Avoiding migration will also ensure that the citizens of the region stay in their hometown and live in clover”.
