The collaboration between Türkiye-based denim manufacturer ORTA and Rieter, one of the leading brands in spinning machine manufacturing, led to fruitful results in the field of ring recycling. This has led to superior yarn characteristics, improved running performance and enhanced sustainability in the textile industry. Following these developments in the ring recycling process, ORTA became the first brand to receive the Com4recycling-Ring License. Com4, an internationally registered trademark for yarns spun on Rieter rotor spinning machines, is now also available for recycled ring, compact and rotor yarns within the already proven Rieter Com4 yarn family to further popularize recycled yarns in the market.

Thanks to Rieter technology, both rotor and ring yarns can be produced with significant amounts of mechanically recycled fiber for use in weaving and knitting. While rotor spinning is common in the recycling market, Rieter’s collaboration with ORTA denim advances the possibilities of ring spinning and recycling even further.

ORTA’s expertise in denim fabric production which is showcased as a best-practice example during ITMA in Milano at Rieter’s Technology Wall played a crucial role in identifying areas for improvement. Rieter proposed adaptations along the value chain and tested them with ORTA’s support, ensuring alignment with requirements.

“Working alongside Rieter has been instrumental in our journey”

Sales and Marketing Manager of the Rieter Business Group Machines & Systems, Franziska Häfeli said: “Rieter is proud to have collaborated with ORTA, an expert in recycled spinning, in developing the ring recycling process. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to sustainable textile production and showcases the immense potential of recycled fibers.”

“Working alongside Rieter has been instrumental in our journey and we are proud to be the first Com4recycling-ring licensee,” said Orhan Herdem, Manager of ORTA Spinning, adding that this achievement highlights their unwavering commitment to sustainability and their goal to lead the industry towards a more circular future.
