YKK Corporation announced that the launch of a product that sets a new standard for snap buttons: the Low-profiled Lightweight Snap, is available to the market.
Snap buttons consist of a visible top part (cap) and underparts (socket, stud, post). The newly developed Low-profiled Lightweight Snap features an ultra-slim underpart design and incorporates a plastic spring to ensure optimal functionality. Compared to the conventional Ring-spring Snap, the new snap achieves approximately 16% reduction in thickness and about 14% reduction in weight, according to in-house testing – using a gauge to measure the product’s height after attachment to the fabric.
It also offers a flat, minimalistic appearance that enhances garment design and expands customer choices. This new product is ideal for activewear and other applications where thinness and lightness are essential.
