One of the leading providers of air interlacing and air texturing jets for synthetic filament yarns, Heberlein is strengthening its position in the Chinese market with its APh and APe series for DTY applications while aiming to provide faster technical support and on-site service through its new service hub in Shengze City.
Commenting on the new investment, Heberlein CEO Martin Zuercher said: “We have opened the service hub in China as part of our long-term commitment to the Chinese market. The new service hub enables us to provide faster response times, stronger technical support and closer customer interaction.”
Over the past 20 years, Switzerland-based Heberlein has achieved significant growth in the Chinese market. The company’s DTY jets are used both for the retrofitting of existing facilities and for new investments. Highlighting that compressed-air consumption is an important performance indicator for textile mills, Heberlein emphasises that its compressed-air-saving technologies provide a competitive advantage for its solutions.
The company will present its APh and APe series for DTY applications at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026, which will take place in Shanghai from November 20 to 24, 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to consult Heberlein experts to evaluate mill-specific improvement potential in terms of processes, costs and quality. The company will welcome visitors at Booth D41 in Hall H6.1.
Solutions for Air Covering applications
Demand for Air Covering technology remains high in the Chinese market. Air Covering combines elastane with a covering yarn by interlacing the two components at regular intervals using a controlled air jet. The resulting yarns offer good stretch, comfort and surface properties.
These yarns are widely used in leggings, sportswear, underwear, hosiery and socks, as well as in stretch fabrics for trousers and jeans, elasticated cuffs, and medical and compression textiles.
The Air Covering process allows the yarn structure to be precisely adapted to the requirements of the final application. Air pressure, jet geometry, overfeed, elastane draft and production speed can all be adjusted to achieve the desired level of interlacing and yarn performance. The resulting integrated yarn is also easy to process in subsequent knitting and weaving operations.
APh series reduces compressed-air consumption
According to Heberlein, the APh series stands out by offering either higher knot stability or reduced compressed-air consumption. The company notes that lower compressed-air consumption and operating costs are among the key priorities for many yarn producers today.
According to comparative data, when processing PES dtex 330f96, the APh213 can reduce air consumption by up to 10%. This supports more reliable downstream processing or lower operating costs.
Up to 15% savings with the APe series
The APe series is another Heberlein solution offering significant advantages in terms of compressed-air consumption. Tests have confirmed that the new range of Advanced Performance DTY interlacing jets can reduce compressed-air consumption by up to 15%.
Heberlein states that these savings are achieved without compromising yarn quality. Investment in the new jet range can pay for itself within approximately 18 months.
New service hub in Shengze City
To move closer to its Chinese customers, Heberlein has opened a new service hub in Shengze City. The facility, which has been operational since August 2026, provides local access to technical support and product expertise while also offering fast service assistance.
The hub is equipped with a portable air generator, an ultrasonic cleaning system, an airflow meter and an air splicer. These resources enable service activities and practical testing to be carried out directly at customer sites. The team also provides troubleshooting support, technical assistance during product trials and maintenance services.
