Professionals from the global home and contract textiles industry, including manufacturers, designers and buying groups, will gather in Frankfurt from 12 to 15 January 2027 for Heimtextil 2027. Having expanded and diversified its offering in recent years, Heimtextil is preparing to shape not only the upcoming season but also the future of the industry through the introduction of the new premium segment Carpets & Rugs Excellence, the Comfort & Connect special area and the Heimtextil Trends 27/28 showcase. Speaking at a press conference held in Istanbul, Heimtextil Director Bettina Bär shared key insights into the upcoming edition.

Referring to recent market research findings, Bettina Bär said: “Quality and performance create trust. Today, every product that is purchased must prove that it is worth choosing. At the same time, every space is expected to offer more.” Bär noted that trust has become a key priority for businesses and an important competitive advantage and said the textile industry’s evolving understanding of trust is centred on providing spaces, materials and products that people can rely on.

Defining trust in textiles through five dimensions, namely Emotional, Sensory, Material, Performance and Commercial trust, Bär added: “In complex market conditions, Heimtextil provides a reliable business partner and a stable meeting point for the industry. It brings together global markets and key players from across the textile value chain. While helping to shape the industry’s future, it offers trusted products and solutions and creates opportunities for new partnerships and long-term business relationships.”

A global platform responding to growing demands

As expectations for home and interior products continue to become more diverse and complex, consumers are paying closer attention to factors such as price, quality, functionality and durability. At the same time, geopolitical uncertainty is making international supply chain planning increasingly challenging. Planners and procurement professionals are looking for business partners capable of consistently meeting agreed quality standards and order volumes. Heimtextil 2027 is positioning itself as a platform where these demands can be addressed.

One of the focal points of the exhibition will be the Heimtextil Trends 27/28 presentation. Developed in collaboration with the Milan-based design platform Alcova, the trend showcase, titled Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living, explores how efficiency-driven lifestyles and technology are influencing the design of spaces and textiles. Through the themes ‘Staged Competence, Inside Out and Hyper Presence’, visitors will discover how homes can be optimised to support better sleep, faster recovery and more efficient living.

Architect and designer Patricia Urquiola continues the material explorations she initiated at previous editions of Heimtextil by incorporating her own work into the Heimtextil Trends 27/28 presentation. Her contribution includes both new creations and further developments of existing concepts.

Carpets and rugs have become one of Heimtextil’s most dynamic product segments in recent years. Under the Carpets & Rugs category, visitors will find handcrafted rugs, premium mats and flooring solutions. In addition, the new premium segment Carpets & Rugs Excellence in Hall 11.0 will showcase international handwoven and machine-made carpet manufacturers selected by an independent expert jury based on product quality, craftsmanship and manufacturing expertise.

More comfort and smart solutions for interior spaces

The new Comfort & Connect special area, located in the foyer of Hall 5.1, will bring together high-quality bed and bath textiles, decorative cushions and home accessories. Positioned close to this area, the Bed, Bath & Living section will further expand its range through a mix of private-label manufacturers and branded collections. Meanwhile, the Smart Bedding section in Hall 4.0 continues to grow with the participation of numerous German and European mattress manufacturers.

Türkiye is also expected to maintain a similar level of exhibitor participation to last year’s event. With strong representation among both exhibitors and visitors, the country continues to rank among Heimtextil’s leading international markets.
