The MUNICH FABRIC START fabrics and accessories trade fair, taking place in Munich from 27–29 January 2026, will bring together international experts through a comprehensive content programme addressing key transformation themes shaping the global textile industry. Over the course of three days, materials, sustainability strategies, digitalisation and structural shifts across the sector will be explored. A wide-ranging conference and “edutainment” programme will cover topics spanning materials and technology, markets, regulation, design and culture—focusing on the fundamental questions shaping the industry’s future. Positioned as a content-driven platform, the event aims to provide a space for knowledge exchange and dialogue among decision-makers across the entire textile value chain.
As part of the event, THE STAGE programme in Hall 2 will feature trend presentations, in-depth sessions on sustainable innovation and material concepts, as well as panels addressing recycling, recommerce and the future of supply chains. Under the “One Question. One Session.” format and through fireside chat discussions, industry representatives will examine the legal, economic and technological conditions expected to shape the textile industry through 2026.
Programme highlights include sustainability and circular economy, advanced material innovations, digitalisation, artificial intelligence and automation, trends and consumer behaviour, regulation and transparency, as well as economic efficiency and new business models. Sessions will address topics such as sustainable materials, textile recycling, data-driven material transparency, digital design processes, the digital product passport, traceability and new production models. Trend presentations for the Spring/Summer 2027 season—covering womenswear, menswear, denim and accessories—will also form a key part of the programme.

The change aims to support earlier industry orientation, improve alignment with international development and order cycles, and provide greater planning flexibility.
