Uludağ Apparel and Clothing Exporters’s Association President and CEO of Yeşim Tekstil Şenol Şankaya made statements about ‘ Attraction Centers Programme ’ covering 23 cities in the East and Southeast Anatolia region. Saying that this programme will contribute a lot to manufacturing and employment, Şankaya said; “Sector provides employment to at least 50-60 thousand people very fast. Sector is waiting for this. These attraction centers must find the pace to become an investment. ”

Underlining the fact that ready wear and garment sector desire to invest, Şankaya recorded that a coordination should be provided and bureaucratic steps that will speed up the process should be taken  in order to make investments in attraction centers actual. Şankaya expressed these; “Our Prime Minister announced very effective inducements. He said; ‘We will make the building and everything as long as you come and manufacture’. Thusly, for example we formed a beautiful industry region in Şanlıurfa as ready wear and garment. 2-3 of our friends started with their own means but nearly 30-40 companies are expecting this inducement to happen.”

Underlining that there is a need for investment in Eastern Anatolia, Şenol Şankaya stated that ready wear and garment is the one sector that will respond to this investment need in the fastest way. Saying that Yeşim Tekstil that is making manufacturing to world wide brands like Nike, Zara, Hugo Boss, Esprit, Bershka and Tchibo, also wants to make investments to this region, Şankaya reminded that they have an investment promise that will provide employment to at least thousand people. Defending that there is a slowness in Attraction Centers Programme’s practice, Şankaya added to his words that investments will actualize faster on the condition that the programme speeds up.

A Kiss of Life to East and Southeast Anatolia

On Attraction Centers Programme covering 23 cities in East and Southeast Anatolia, zero interest loan and business loan with decreased interest rates  are provided for investments. In addition to building new manufacturing facilities, the restoration of manufacturing facilities and those who want to develop their businesses, the establishment of call and data centers are also supported. The facility buildings given in a feasibility suitable way, are formed by the investor. The minimum investment cost to benefit from facility investments is defined as 2 million lira while the employment guarantee is at least 30 people. Making a statement in July, Minister of Development Lütfi Elvan had announced that they received 3 thousand applications from 380 companies and they foreseen a 92 billion liras investment and 365 thousand people employment according to that.
