Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX UV Printer Goes Beyond 2 Dimensions

Mimaki, the leading brand of digital inkjet printing and cutting solutions, is expanding their product portfolio with an innovative model. The new large format flatbed UV inkjet printer JFX200-2513 EX brings value-added printing to a different dimension with a printing and dyeing technology that goes beyond 2-dimensional print, creating a 2.5D effect in prints. Enabling high productivity, this new Mimaki model was announced to be launched in May 2019.

Mimaki continues to expand their product portfolio in UV LED printing. JFX200-2513 EX is added next to JFX200-2513, which is still exhibiting a successful sales chart with competitive prices and technical features in Turkish market. The new model is extending the JFX200 series; it is capable of directly printing on a wide variety of materials including white board, transparent/coloured board, wood, cardboard, and metal with a size of up to 2,500mm x 1,300mm. The new model can widely be used for various applications such as sign panels, displays (furniture) and building materials. JFX200-2513 EX will be introduced to the international market at the FESPA Global Expo 2019 in May whereas the sales will start in June for the Turkish market.

Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX – going beyond 2 dimensions in UV printing; 2.5D experience

The “Emboss Print” in the “Surface Imaging” that Mimaki have been proposing is a technique that enables 2.5D expression using multiple layers of UV ink to add a three-dimensional effect to the surface. Conventionally, there were only two gradation levels (with or without layered area), but “Mimaki 2.5D Texture Maker” of the new function of Mimaki genuine RIP software, “RasterLink6Plus” now allows you to easily create multi-layered gradation data. As each data layer is processed differently, a realistic depth at different thicknesses is obtained on the printing surface.

2.5D prints with a brick and woodgrain texture that stimulates creativity in architecture and interior decoration and enticing you to touch can be easily created with JFX200-2513 EX. An elevation of thick ink as with oil painting can also be obtained. The printed material becomes more value-added with this smooth texture in different thicknesses created in addition to colour application.

Increased print speed, safety and usability

The entry model JFX200-2513 EX is an ultimate large flatbed UV inkjet printer that combines high value-added print and high productivity. The newly developed head unit has increased the speed of white & color simultaneous print used for transparent/coloured boards 200% compared to the well-known model. Also, the newly featured “Draft mode” achieves a higher-grade productivity, realizing a maximum printing speed of 35m2/h.

The new model also increases the stability and safety of the print job. Mimaki Nozzle Control and Nozzle Recovery System (NCU & NRS) automatically detects missing nozzles and performs recovery. This means that users can continue their operation without waiting for service representative.

Links with external stop interface allow users to meet safety standards that are different by factory. Other than the standard emergency stop switch, customers can also have the printer work with safety measures that suit their environment.

Another advantage of the JFX200-2513 EX, which will be available on the market with powerful hardware, is its increased usability. You can use not only the ON/OFF switch on the operation panel, but also a foot pedal to operate the vacuum switch that ensures stable print by adsorbing media to the bed surface. The foot pedal improves work efficiency when the user has no hands free such as for printing on large-size boards.

In addition to the conventional USB connection, connection via Ethernet is now available. This is the most convenient way to control a single PC by connecting it to multiple printers. For this easy-to-install connection, just add a cable to your existing office network.

Mimaki will show the digital world of the future at FESPA 2019

Mimaki will be attending FESPA Global Expo 2019 in Munich, Germany on May 14-17; under the theme “Imagine the Future of Print”. Preparing to inspire customers to explore creative, innovative, profit generating possibilities in a futuristic booth concept; Mimaki will demonstrate world-first innovations. Mimaki’s booth (B6-A30), enriched with LED-lighting paths on the floor and UV digital print on mirrors; will encompass four key business areas; sign graphics, industrial products, textiles and 3D printing.

The new JFX200-2513 EX, which extends the UV LED printing product range; is among the prominent products of FESPA Global Expo 2019. This new model makes 2.5D prints possible; and will be the focus of attention of FESPA visitors with its high efficiency, print stability, rich application and improved usability. A further highlight on the booth this year will be the new FDM 3D printer for the small Print to Object market; focusing on JIG self-production.

Due to increasing competition and production costs, demand and interest in workflow solutions are constantly increasing. Mimaki previously introduced their IoT solution for their users in this segment. This year’s FESPA visitors can learn about the next phase of IoT; through a glimpse of the new upcoming software Job Controller IP. Connectivity with Gravograph and Trotec laser systems will be fully supported in the latest Rasterlink Rip.

Last but not least, Mimaki will demonstrate their new Simple POP software, specially developed for the retail market. Shop-owners won’t need any graphic knowledge to create and design their own shop signage; such as labels, stickers, roll-ups and so on. This new software connects one-on-one to Rasterlink for an automated workflow; from design to print and cut on Mimaki’s successful and popular UCJV series.
