ITMMayer & Cie. refreshes ties with Turkish knitting market

German circular knitting machine manufacturer Mayer & Cie. will meet with the Turkish market together with its Turkish representative Mayer Mümessillik (MMÜ) at ITM 2022, to be held on June 14-18 after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The company will present three machines at Booth 713 in Hall 8; the D4-2.2 X interlock machine, the OV 3.2 QCe for double jersey structures and the MV 4 3.2 II for single jersey fabrics. Mayer & Cie. and MMÜ team have a positive outlook on the medium-term for the Turkish market despite the tense international situation, and their focus during the exhibition will be on in-person contacts with customers, suppliers and partners.

OV 3.2 QCe for double jersey structures

OV 3.2 QCe, specializing in interlock fabrics and double jersey structures knitted in both filament and synthetic fibre yarns, will be presented to the visitors at ITM 2022. The machine, available in a choice of three frames from open-width and industrial to giant frame, will be on show in Istanbul in 30-inch, E40 gauge model. OV 3.2 QCe also qualifies as a producer of 8-lock structures, spacer fabrics and fine gauges, with a conversion kit. Mayer & Cie Türkiye Regional Sales Manager Stefan Bühler said; “Not for nothing has the OV 3. 2 QCe been one of our most popular machines for years,” and stated that this machine is mainly used for sportswear, leisure and outerwear.

D4-2.2 X for fine rib and interlock fabrics

Another Mayer & Cie solution to be on show will be the D4-2.2 X for double-jersey structures. The machine offers an ideal option for knitting fine rib fabrics of up to E28 gauge and is also used for spacer and interlock fabrics. It can produce elastomeric plating on both cylinder and dial cam and performs all the tasks assigned to it with high productivity.

MV 4 3.2 II for flexibility in the single jersey sector

The company’s solution for the single jersey sector, MV 4 3.2 II, will be producing in E38 gauge at ITM. In addition, the machine can be supplied for gauges from E14 to E60, addressing a flexible application area ranging from piqué and double piqué to one-thread fleece and smooth single jersey.

Türkiye is a market with prospects

Stefan Bühler noted that the global economy faces are enormously wide-ranging and stated that the Russian invasion of Ukraine, supply chain outages, shortages of raw materials and skyrocketing energy prices create uncertainty.

Bühler, remarking that former commission merchants have now become enterprises on their own, also relayed that Türkiye benefits from its proximity to Europe and that the transportation routes are manageable. Bühler said; “This location advantage attracts brand manufacturers who together with their orders bring new approaches, new designs and new technologies into the country.”

Bühler emphasized that ITM is one of the exhibitions that stood out together with ITMA in the trade fair calendar and concluded his words as follows; “I have my doubts as to whether it will attract such a large international turnout this time around. Yet we nevertheless look forward to it eagerly. There is no substitute for direct, in-person contact with customers and partners, and after two years of online meetings it is simply an urgent necessity.”

“Large orders have increased, especially for standard products”

Kahraman Güveri, CEO of MMU, the representative of Stefan Bühler and Mayer & Cie. in Türkiye, has a positive perspective of the country’s market outlook for the coming years, despite the rapidly increasing inflation in Türkiye and the elections in 2023. Güveri noted that large orders are increasing, especially for standard products, and said that this leads to new investments, new companies and growing demand for refurbished machines that then need to be replaced by new machines elsewhere. Güveri underlined that they are confident thanks to Türkiye’s developed textile industry as long as there are no unforeseen developments.
