The End of Journey for Premiere Vision Istanbul
The End of Journey for Premiere Vision Istanbul

The yarn & fibre, fabric and accessory fair Premiere Vision Istanbul, organized twice a year since 2014, will no longer be held. The autumn edition of Premiere Vision Istanbul, which held its last exhibition in 2019 from March 20 to 22, was supposed to be held in October. However, due to lack of interest and demand, the fair company cancelled the organization. It is seen that Istanbul fair has been removed from the list on the official website of Premiere Vision. The fairs organized by Premiere Vision Association and GL Events Group, in France, the United States and Turkey, will from now on continue to be organized in France and the United States only.

Premiere Vision fairs, where textile manufacturers present their latest collections; and have the opportunity to meet the global market and show new trends; have a significant weight in the indusry with their 40 years of history. Premiere Vision fairs have always attracted the attention of Turkish textile manufacturers; due to the participation difficulties experienced in the past to another important trade fair, Texworld Paris. In the following period, Turkish textile manufacturers managed to stand out among the most important exhibitors in both fairs.

Economic and political problems in our region prepared the end of the Premiere Vision Istanbul fair

Due to the increasing market power of the Turkish textile industry; as of 2014, Premiere Vision began to be organized in Istanbul as well as in Paris and New York. Premiere Vision Istanbul was especially aimed at buyers from Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Eastern European countries. From its first day, the fair was supported by Turkey’s major textile and apparel exports organizations and associations; especially by İTHİB and UTİB and established a strong trend. However, due to political and economic problems experienced in Turkey and the surrounding region delegation of buyers and participants have experienced declines in their numbers. This eventually led to the cancellation of the fair.

French organizers of the fair announced that the Istanbul fair was cancelled due to the lack of interest and decreasing intensity; but they would not close their offices in Istanbul. Authorities shared that they will focus on fairs in Paris and New York.

Texworld Istanbul fairs, which were organized by Messe Frankfurt in Istanbul beginning from 2014, were also cancelled in 2016. Texworld fairs also perform the editions of Paris and New York.
