Mouvent Changes the Rules of Digital Textile Printing – Cenk Elkatip

The Bobst Group’s introduction to the digital printing industry, Mouvent brand, continues to develop new technologies to change the rules of the printing industry. Mouvent started to get results from the new direct textile printing machine TX802, which will be launched in ITMA 2019, installed at Beztaş, a company operating in Bursa. Developed to replace the conventional printing technology in the textile industry, the TX802 claims to offer the alternative to the textile manufacturers with its special head system and head cooling equipment.

The new direct-to-fabric printing machine TX801 and TX802, which represent the next generation of Mouvent’s digital printing, can work with all fabric and ink types. The TX802 has a print size of 180cm and can print up to 8 colours and has 2 heads per colour. The same model’s 4-head per colour CMYK solution TX404 and the upcoming Single Pass solutions will move digital printing to a different alley. The cluster technology makes a difference on models equipped with Fuji Samba heads.

Thanks to this technology that can perform prints up to 1200 dpi resolution, unique colour transitions and sharp geometric patterns and high sharpness are achieved with droplet size between 2 and 7 picoliters. Developed through a 2-year R&D process, the TX801 can print 200 square meters per hour. The TX802 model has a printing power of 400 square meters and 800 square meters per hour in two different options. The Single Pass model with 100 meters per minute solution, which will be launched at the end of the summer in 2019, is presented as a truly complete and comprehensive alternative to conventional textile printing.

Mouvent aims for 30% market share in their segment

In his interview with Textilegence, Cenk Elkatip, Regional Sales Manager of Mouvent talked about both the technical features of the new model and Mouvent’s market strategy. Elkatip, who reminded that he has significant experience in textile and printing, said that cheap and fast production for low volume jobs, reducing the steps in the production process and the high quality of print are important factors for the development stage of digital textile printing. Cenk Elkatip said;

“Following rapid growth, various problems have arisen due to the head technology of digital printing over time. In addition, it was seen that some results obtained in conventional textile printing could not be achieved with the same quality in digital printing. Print heads commonly used in the market could not go beyond a certain range of jetting and endurance. This led to a stagnation in the market and it was frequently expressed that the market has reached saturation. However, the share of digital printing in the total printing industry is still only between 5-10%. So there is still a potential share of at least 90%. Mouvent focuses on expanding the share of digital printing within the total market, not to take a share of the current limited digital print market. In textile printing, we can specify our target as 30% of the market”.

Mouvent changes the rules of digital textile printing. The success formula; special Cluster head technology

Cenk Elkatip explained that Fuji Samba heads are used in digital printing machines developed by Mouvent, but these heads are processed differently with their own special CLUSTER technology. Elkatip said that other known heads gets damaged after they crashed the fabric and that they had to be replaced, but Fuji Samba heads in the Cluster systems do not suffer from the impact thanks to a special hard glass protection film. Elkatip;

“Fuji Samba heads, developed with silicon technology, can reach up to 85-90 KHz and can jet 3 times more compared to its competitors. So each head can drop 16 g ink in one pass. Lap areas and solid colours that are difficult in digital printing can be easily printed with this jetting power. This technology carries us where the 600 dpi single-pass and scanning models cannot reach. We have a special cooler in our Cluster system where heads are placed. In this way, we can stabilize the firing of the heads working at very high frequencies. When using the special Chiller cooler that comes with the machine; we use the same unit for cooling our linear motors. In this way, we avoid the problems caused by heating; and we always achieve a stable jetting with a stable carriage movement.

Mouvent changes the rules of digital textile printing. A new financing model; Click-charge

Disclosing that Mouvent’s parent company Bobst has a strong financing structure; Cenk Elkatip said that special payment opportunities have been created for textile manufacturers who want to invest in Mouvent machines. Announcing that a certain percentage of the value of the machine is paid in sales; the rest of the machine’s most expensive head and electronic cards will be presented with a lease method. Elkatip said; “Now our customers will pay only as much as they print”.

Elkatip indicated that they will offer life-time guarantee to the whole machine including heads; and that they will offer solutions with the lowest cost of production to the market. He argued this incoming model will be very attractive, especially for those thinking to invest in a single-pass machine. Saying that Mouvent focuses on providing correct and on time service to the customer; Elkatip noted that a strategy that lets the digital printing market grow and increases its investment capacity is preferred.

ITMA and new models will increase interest

In addition to the TX802, Mouvent will also offer the TX404 to the market this year. This model with a print power of 750 square meters per hour; prints up to 1 colour with 4 Fuji Samba heads. The company plans to release the TX611 Single-pass printing machine as of the end of the summer; which will be printing up to 6 colours. The enormous production power of this model is 100 meters per minute. 320 cm print version of the TX802 with 180 cm print version will be available in January 2020.

Mouvent will showcase their innovations to visitors at their stand no. C101 in Hall 3 at ITMA 2019 from 20 to 26 June. Attaching great importance to the Turkish market, the company also established a showroom and experience centre in Bursa. With the help of opportunities such as pre-treatment, fixing and washing in the centre; textile manufacturers will be able to examine the solutions of Mouvent and get their sample prints.
