One of RadiciGroup companies, the leading textile weaving solutions provider of advanced weaving machines, spare parts and integrated services in the textile industry, Itema S.p.A has added a new step to their strategic growth in the market. Itema agreed for significant stake in Schoch, a manufacturer of weaving accessories, including reed and other components, headquartered in Ranica, Italy by the end of September. In addition to their headquarters in Bergamo, Italy, Schoch has a subsidiary in India.
The acquisition operation is part of the Galaxy project, the wider strategy of Itema launched in 2017 with the target to integrate, through strategic diversifications across the whole textile supply chain, key expertise and resources for the development of weaving machines components.
With rapier, airjet and projectile weaving technologies, Itema took over the majority stakes of Lamiflex in 2017. Taking over PTMT (former Panther) later on, Itema acquired Schoch in their next step. The agreement signed with Schoch group will represent a further significant step for the synergic development of key weaving machine’s accessories; as well as a remarkable reinforcement of the company’s commercial network.
A known brand in weaving reeds and components; Schoch
Schoch’s takeover operation formalities have been completed by the end of September. the company has been founded by Alfredo Schoch in 1907 in Ranica, Bergamo Province. Son of a Swiss reeds manufacturer; Alfredo Schoch sets up his business in Italy and carries on the family’s entrepreneurial vocation. Key milestone for the company development has been the establishment of Schoch Reeds India in 2009; which ensures to increase and reinforce the strategic presence on the Indian market. The company continues to develop their production portfolio continuously by making new investments in their headquarters in Italy.
