ITME Africa 2020 sets off with big goals

In recent years, Africa is one of the new attraction centers for the global textile industry. A new fair is organized for African textile designers, who have the advantages of production costs and logistics, to discover their potential. Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, will host the ITME Africa, which will be organized for the first time. ITME Africa 2020 will bring together global textile technology manufacturers with local African markets in the Millennium Hall in February 14-16.

Starting out with the motto ‘Prosperity for Africa Through Textile Machinery’, the fair aims to contribute to business, trade, industry, social and cultural development and strengthen relations in Africa. ITME Africa 2020 is held in cooperation with India ITME Society, a non-profit roof organization in India, the International Trade Center (ITC-UN), Geneva, a global organization promoting trade between nations, and the autonomous national Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce. The fair aims to encourage and facilitate bilateral, regional, intra-regional collaborations to stimulate trade and investment through technology and engineering in the textile sector.

This largest technology and engineering event in the African Continent; ITME Africa 2020 shall see a total of 172 exhibitors from 15 countries; highest number of exhibitors,  87+ companies being from India.  Country pavilion from Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, and China; apart from India shall showcase world’s best machinery and   technology in 23 chapters.

ITME Africa 2020 has a strong content and program

This International Exhibition & Technical Seminar promoted globally for over a year shall see a convergence of business delegations and visitors from 32 countries.  ITME AFRICA is expected to witness industry buyers; and visitors from 7 African countries (Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda). Once again, registering largest number of visitors strengthens this expectation.

ITME Africa 2020 has a strong content and program for exhibitors and buyers; business to business (B2B), business to government (B2G), business to finance (B2F) meeting organizations; and technical seminars will be followed during the fair. India’s experiences will be shared in the technical seminar to encourage the host Ethiopia; and the whole Africa to become self-sufficient in cotton production with modern technology.

A weaving machine manufactured in India will be promoted live; and will be donated to Bahir Dar University to promote technical education in Ethiopia. Therefore, the event will be a catalyst not only for the textile and manufacturing industry; but also for education and research institutes across the continent.
