Turkey and the region’s largest textile machinery and technology exhibition ITM2020 announced for the second time to postpone due to the coronavirus outbreak. The exhibition, which should normally be held in Istanbul TUYAP on June 2-6, 2020, was postponed to July 14-18, 2020 due to precautions for the health of exhibitors and visitors. However, the worldwide outbreak spread rate, and in particular the increasing number of cases in Turkey showed that this one-month delay is not enough. The organizer of the exhibition, Teknik Fuarcılık, announced that the exhibition was postponed to the next year with a statement. According to this new planning, ITM2021 will be organized in Istanbul TUYAP on June 22-26.
Technical textiles and nonwoven exhibition Hightex, organized simultaneously and together with ITM, was also affected by this change. HIGHTEX will be held on the same dates as ITM2021.
The priority is on the health of exhibitors and visitors
The following statements were provided regarding the postponement of ITM2020;
“ITM2020 International Textile Machinery Exhibition and HIGHTEX 2020 Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Exhibition were postponed to July 14-18, 2020; due to the Covid-19 (Corona virus) outbreak. However, considering the spread of Covid-19 around the world, it is decided to postpone that exhibitions to 22-26 June 2021. This decision was taken considering that the Covid-19 outbreak will continue to affect the world over the next few months and its effects will continue as of now.
As ITM and HIGHTEX Project Group, our first priority is to protect the health of; you, our valuable participants, our visitors and all our collaborators. In this regard, we believe that all our exhibitors will find this this compulsory postpone decision of June 22-26,2021understandably”.

ITM, which was held for the first time in 2004; is considered as an important platform for the rapidly developing Turkish textile industry. Due to increased investments, global textile machinery manufacturers showing interest in Turkish and regional markets took their place as important players of the ITM exhibitions. ITM exhibitions also play an important role in opening Turkish textile machinery and accessories manufacturers to export markets. While the exhibition increased the number of exhibitors and visitors in each edition; it also managed to spread to a larger area in TÜYAP.
